OpenTrust™ and Utimaco Announce Strategic Alliance |
Oberursel, June 20th, 2007. Utimaco - The Data Security Company and OpenTrust™, European leader in trust and security infrastructures, today announce their alliance and confirm the technical interoperability of the OpenTrust™ infrastructure solution with Utimaco’s SafeGuard CryptoServer HSM.
The OpenTrust™ platform now features integrated support for Utimaco’s Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) for stronger trust infrastructure solutions. SafeGuard CryptoServer HSM from Utimaco can now be used directly by the different OpenTrust™ modules: PKI, SmartCard Management, Digital Signature, Timestamping, Proof Management etc.
In addition, Utimaco and OpenTrust™ have validated the interoperability of Utimaco’s SafeGuard software solutions and OpenTrust™.
This compatibility enables customers to manage company’s security from a central location: issuing certificates, distributing security devices and smart cards, as well as configuring SafeGuard security applications (POA – Power-On-Authentication, disk encryption, etc.), facilitating the management of employee security tools.
The OpenTrust™ platform provides support for the following Utimaco software solutions: SafeGuard Cerbalon (Windows based smartcard logon), SafeGuard LAN Crypt (file encryption on network shares and Terminal Server/Citrix ), SafeGuard Private Disk (folder encryption) and SafeGuard Mail Gateway (securing e-mail). Furthermore the certificate based architecture of OpenTrust™ allows for the integration with Utimaco’s new modular security suite SafeGuard Enterprise.
This joint offer, combining the advantages of two of the most important vendors on the information system security market, will be made available throughout Europe. Utimaco hardware and software broadens the range of services proposed by the OpenTrust™ platform.
