Major French Bank Chooses OpenTrust-PKI |
Paris, September 18 2007 – Vialink, subsidiadary of BRED Banque Populaire and Click & Trust, the Certification Authority of the Banque Populaire Group, have chosen to use OpenTrust-PKI software.
Vialink (www.vialink.fr) develops and implements solutions for paperless transactions based on electronic signatures (eg: e-cautions ; www.e-cautions.com) and other cryptographic technologies. Vialink is a subsidiary of BRED Banque Populaire.
Click & Trust (www.click-and-trust.com), the certification authority of the Banque Populaire Group, issues and manages digital certificates, electronic identity cards that provide a high level of security for internet transactions. Click & Trust is a subsidiary of the “Banque Federale des Banques Populaires” and of “BRED Banque Populaire”.
Vialink and Click-and-Trust chose OpenTrust-PKI due to the industrial strength of the solution combined with its ease of configuration. The flexibility of the OpenTrust-PKI sales model makes it economic to deploy the solution to, and provide certificates for, a large number of users.
As a first step, the OpenTrust-PKI certificates will be used to provide BRED Banque Populaire users with highly secure authentication services as well to develop new and innovative trust services for customers of both Vialink and Click & Trust.
